Outsourcing? You're Doing It Wrong

There are more than ten solid reasons why you should use outsource to an American company as an entrepreneur. Although with the upcoming inauguration of the next American President, there are a lot of questions and very few answers with respect to our collective future. A few things are just as clear as they were yesterday, or the day before that. For instance, Arabica beans still make the most fragrant coffee, and my cat’s purr is still as healing as it ever was. And of course, choosing America-based companies and services is important for entrepreneurs, if they are located in the USA.

Let us take a look at how choosing services closer home can help you build a better business, and probably find some stability in the midst of all the chaos in the world.

1. Eliminate Socio-Cultural Issues

If you have noticed, most offshore vendors usually have a training department that helps their employees to deal with you better. There are training programs that help employees to understand your accent, and neutralize their accent so that you can understand when they speak. Yet, this does not always happen successfully. Why go through all that when you can work with someone who was born in the USA? It is also important to note that working styles differ between cultures and societies. If you wish to reduce socio-cultural differences as much as you can, you should probably hire a company based in the USA.

2. Avoid Security Risks

Many companies often outsource their work to countries, where data security and cloud infrastructure are not protected efficiently. As all your data will probably be stored on your vendors’ servers, your confidential information and data will be subject to a different country’s laws. Privacy rights may differ too, and if you are handling your customers’ data, and that is in turn stored on servers which are located outside the USA, you may be risking jeopardizing the safety of your own customers.

3. Enhance Employment Figures

It is a well known fact that employment figures are dropping across the world. When you are an entrepreneur and you wish to give back something to the society where your business is located, the best way you can return those favors is by hiring local talent. Even if you are looking for a virtual receptionist, you can seek the services of a company that is based in the USA. Not only will you be helping the community that is sustaining you, but you might also help in improving American employment figures.

4. Save On Hidden Costs

A number of times, clients outsource their work and projects to vendors outside the country and end up paying for more than they bargained. This usually happens because foreign taxes, hidden costs and other expenditures could run so high, that you may actually end up spending more than you thought you would. In addition, if the work you receive is sub-par, you will probably not be able to seek damages like you can, in the USA.

5. Access To Legal Assistance

If the vendor breaches the contract or if you are unhappy with the deliverables, you always have a right to seek legal assistance in the USA. Of course this is possible even abroad, but you will end up spending more on foreign legal assistance, and will have to wade through red tape and bureaucracy in a different country. Hiring the services of a company closer home will help you avoid these legal complications as help is available much closer to you.

6. Excellent English Language Skills

You might want to hire a cheap offshore assistant, but of what use is a few cents saved, when you are not able to understand what your new inexpensive assistant speaks? Hiring the services of a virtual receptionist offered by an American company will not only solve that problem but will also help you to reduce costs. US answering services are known for their cultural compatibility and excellent English language skills.

7. Scale Up Quickly

If you wish to take in more orders or grow your business, you will need someone to answer those calls. As an entrepreneur you might be tempted to offshore your administrative work to companies abroad but this will not help you scale up. US answering services are more attuned to helping your domestic customers and possibly retaining more customers, than making your customers speak to a call center executive who may not be very fluent in English.

8. Avoid Tax Issues

We can’t really say how the new administration is going to treat companies that outsource work to other countries. We can’t also say what happens 4 years later, when another administration will walk into the White House. However, from what we do know, we can confirm that hiring the services of a US-based company will help you avoid a lot of tax related issues. For instance, if you hired the services of a virtual receptionist from a US based vendor, you will have fewer tax-related headaches to worry about.

9. Be Protected From Political Upheavals

Most American outsourcing clients have just one worry right now: How will Donald Trump penalize companies that outsource work to other countries? We must always expect political upheavals now and in the future, though it might be a pessimistic way to look at the world. Yet, this is a realistic and safer game to play. If you hire services of an American company, you will probably have less complications to deal with, no matter who is in the White House.

10. Have A Competitive Advantage

Last but not the least; it helps to observe the world around us. As an entrepreneur, you might have noticed that most start-up owners and small business owners outsource their work to foreign countries. While they may be saving a little money, they also stand to lose out on innovation, high quality customer service and lose their competitive edge. If you hire the services of an American company, you can rest assured that you will have a competitive edge over others.

You may still feel unsettled about the future. However, if you want certainty in the way things turn out for you as an entrepreneur, outsource your tasks, such as live call answering, using the services of America-based companies.
